All nationals of the European Union will not need a visa for tourist trips to the UK of short duration (less than six months). People making short business trips will also be exempt from visa requirements in the UK (simple professional visits, training, conferences, seminars, etc.). Others will need a Standard Visitors Visa. Please make sure that you are covered for medical care while you are in the UK. To access emergency care in the United Kingdom (UK), anyone coming from the mainland to the UK will need one of the following: a valid European health card or a provisional health insurance card.
Visitors from Norway can access medically necessary care with a valid Norwegian passport.
As of January 1, 2021, most visitors from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland may have to pay for care from the National Health Service.
Until late 2021 it was possible to enter the UK territory with a valid identity card or passport. Since then, the identity card is no longer sufficient to cross the Channel and you need to have a passport
